February 2020 – Judy and Mickey Hermann

The February Yard of the Month, 7114 Quail Field, belongs to Judy and Mickey Hermann. You would never know it’s a winter month, when you feast your eyes on the impressive, eye-catching display of mature Pansies, Azaleas, Kale, Snapdragons, and Bottlebrushes. If history repeats itself, however, the weather which usually accompanies the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will likely wreak havoc on our gardeners, so, as Shakespeare wrote, Brutus said to Caesar in 44 B.C.: “Beware the Ides of March!”

January 2020 – Bill and Marilyn Allen

Hearthstone residents, please beware! The EPA, OSHA, and TCEQ have discovered an elevated level of particulate matter in our atmosphere, unanimously determining that LOVE is in the air! This phenomenon is expected to peak on February 14 and will be totally dissipated soon thereafter. You will LOVE the Yard of the Month for January, 7907 Virginia Water Lane, the sprawling culdesac home of Bill and Marilyn Allen. The heartthrob collection of color features yellow, purple, and white petunias, LOVingly escorted by Mexican Heather, a Sago Palm, and LOVEly roses adorning the wrought iron fencing. This was” heartly” a difficult YOM selection.

October 2019 – Bob and Amy Christensen

Feeling bewitched? Amy and Bob Christensen have used wizardry to convert the tricks of September into the treats of October on 14207 Sandalfoot. The bad witch, Imelda, didn’t give gardeners a ghost of a chance, but a magic potion resulted in an array of red and white caladiums, roses, multi-colored pentas, dracaena, sunshine ligustrums, and firecracker plants. Young goblins will be treated on Halloween with bats, frogs, a baby gator, and, of course, pumpkins!
